Did you go to Alaska? I'm very jealous!

Yep. I flew allllll the way up to Fairbanks for my best friends wedding. :) That crazy girl has lived up there for a few years.

if it ends well it is well
Yea. I actually woke from my nap to this. It startled me so much I said "holy shit!" and the people around me kind of laughed. The Alaskan landscape is amazing.

that's so great.
it would be cool to live there one whole year and experience the
light and the dark so fully.
After the two weeks I've spent [in summer and late winter] I wouldn't want to spend a year there! heh In the summer I couldn't sleep no matter what. It was light outside at 3:00am and it killed me. The darkness in the winter is ok, it's the cold I couldn't handle. It averaged 4* when I was there and I about froze my toosh off!

yeah, i don't like to be cold either but if you had all the proper clothes, boots, gear and such it could be really awesome. also i wonder if perhaps you wouldn't produce more with all the extra hours of day light. no one could really tell you it was time for sleep, you would just get to draw, take fotos or wander or do what ever you wanted. i love the idea of it and maybe i would not be able to handle it at all but i fell in love with the idea when i read 'artic dreams', by barry lopez. he is a research writer i beleive with a good understanding of science and history and he writes about the bison, birds, and polar bears and he is more like a poet with his way with words and sentences... just beautiful.
